Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we assist clients in securing housing that meets their needs and preferences. We also support individuals looking to live independently by providing home modifications and in-home support services.

We offer a range of flexible living arrangements to suit individual needs and preferences. Whether you’d like to remain in your own home, live independently in a Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) or Supported Independent Living (SIL) property, or prefer the companionship of a shared living environment, we can support you.

Funded through the NDIS, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is housing designed to meet specific design standards and allow residents to live more independently, with features tailored to their individual needs. These homes also enable better access to on-site or nearby support services, providing a safe, comfortable, and empowering living environment.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a type of NDIS support that helps people with disability live as independently as possible, while receiving day-to-day assistance with tasks like cooking, cleaning, personal care, and medication management.

Yes, Culture Connex offers Short Term Accommodation (STA), also known as respite, in a welcoming, home-like environment shared with other guests. During your stay, you’ll receive support from qualified staff with daily routines and activities, while also having the chance to build new skills, connect with others, explore new experiences, and work towards your personal goals.

Short Term Accommodation is NDIS funded. This funding is listed under core supports in the support category Assistance with Daily Life.

Medium Term Accommodation can support you if you need somewhere to live while waiting for your confirmed long term housing solution. Medium Term Accommodation is usually for stays up to three months (90 days) and is NDIS funded.

Yes, we provide a range of accommodation options to support individuals during times of transition or crisis. This includes Short-Term Accommodation (STA) Respite and emergency stays, offering a safe and supportive environment while longer-term solutions are arranged. We also offer Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) for those waiting on home modifications, transitioning between homes, or needing temporary housing for a few months.

Individualised living options (ILO) is support to live the way that suits you. Culture Connex was one of the first NDIS providers to successfully implement the ILO model in the community outside of its pilot project. Not everybody is illegible for SIL 24/7 care, so ILO is flexible to help best support the participant in the right home with a hybrid model of care.
