NDIS Support Built on Lived Experience

Why Lived Experience Matters in Complex Disability Support
When it comes to disability support, nothing beats working with someone who genuinely gets it. At Culture Connex, we don’t just understand the NDIS, we’ve lived it with experiences to share. That’s why we offer more than just services. We offer connection, understanding and care that’s grounded in real experience.
If you’re looking for an NDIS provider that listens, adapts and sticks with you through thick and thin you’ve come to the right place. We’re here to help you live your way with the right support behind you.
Why Lived Experience Matters in Disability Services
Culture Connex was co-founded by Jake Briggs, a C5/C6 quadriplegic who knows what it’s like to rely on support, fight for independence and navigate the NDIS firsthand. After sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2010, Jake’s life changed in an instant. But rather than stepping back, Jake stepped forward.
He returned to work, immersed himself in disability advocacy and began using his experience to push for better outcomes, not just for himself but for others facing similar challenges. His work has taken him across Australia, collaborating with key organisations, state and federal government speaking up on policy and helping shape a more inclusive system. Culture Connex is the result of that journey, a NDIS provider built from lived experience, created to do things differently and driven by the belief that everyone deserves support that’s honest, flexible and rooted in real understanding.
He saw a gap in the system, a lack of genuine understanding from providers who didn’t share the lived reality of people with disability. That’s what led him to start Culture Connex. A support service led by someone who’s been there. Someone who knows the power of good care, the frustration of red tape and the importance of being heard.
Jake also hosts the Keep Rolling with Jake Briggs podcast where he chats with guests about real experiences of disability, advocacy and the NDIS. It’s about honesty, progress and sharing the voices that often go unheard. Some of his most recent guests have included Matthew Elliott, Rosemary Kayess and Roman Abasay, each bringing something unique to the table and offering powerful insights into their journeys and experiences.
Your NDIS Provider for High Intensity and Complex Support
If your support needs are complex, you deserve a team who’s not only capable but calm, confident and experienced. We specialise in high-intensity supports that require advanced training, clinical oversight and a strong relationship built on trust.
We support participants with:
• Complex bowel and bladder care
• Tracheostomy and ventilator management
• Seizure support and medication administration
• Enteral feeding and PEG management
• Severe swallowing difficulties (dysphagia)
• Complex wound care and pressure management
• Challenging behaviours and psychosocial disability
Every team member is handpicked based on their skills, experience and personality fit. Ongoing training and supervision ensure they’re ready to deliver the best possible care every day.
We also have a Registered Nurse on staff to provide clinical oversight, contribute to complex care planning and guide the safe delivery of high-intensity supports. It’s about making sure every detail is managed properly and with care.
We work alongside families, allied health professionals, NDIS planners and your broader support network to keep things consistent and coordinated.
Support Coordination That Actually Makes Life Easier
Understanding your NDIS plan is one thing. Putting it to good use is another. Our Support Coordinators are here to take the stress off your shoulders and help you turn your plan into practical everyday support.
We help with:
• Explaining your plan and what you can use it for
• Finding and connecting you with the right providers
• Coordinating your care and therapy services
• Preparing for plan reviews and helping you make changes
• Advocating for you if things get tricky
We take a hands-on approach that includes everyone important to you. Your family, your clinicians and your broader care team. It’s about working together to get the right results.

Accommodation and Housing That Suits You
Your home should feel like home. That’s why we help participants find housing that fits their lifestyle, goals and support needs without compromising on safety or independence.
We support:
• Shared or individual Supported Independent Living (SIL)
• Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) tailored to accessibility needs
• Short and Medium-Term Accommodation (STA and MTA)
• Assistive technology and compliant home modifications
• Matching staff and housemates based on compatibility
We also offer support for Individualised Living Options (ILO), where the focus is on flexibility. You might live with a host, share with others, or stay in your own home. Our team works with you to explore what’s possible and build a plan that grows with your needs.
From the very start, we make sure your living arrangement feels right for you and stays that way.
Support That Moves With You
Life changes and your support should too. Whether you’re recovering in hospital, moving house or just adjusting your routine, we’re ready to meet you where you’re at.
That might look like:
• In-home care if you’re unable to leave the house
• Telehealth services for therapy or check-ins in regional areas
• Support during hospital stays or while transitioning from rehab
• Updating your care plans as your needs shift
We support participants across metro, regional and remote areas because location should never be a barrier to quality support.
We believe the best outcomes come from flexible, responsive support delivered by people who are easy to talk to and quick to act.
Support That Sees the Whole You
We’re proud to be a culturally aware, community-driven provider. We deliver inclusive person-centred care to people from all backgrounds, including First Nations participants, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) groups and LGBTQIA+ communities.
